What is often overlooked by the general public, are the stressors that police officers face in their field of work and how such stress can affect their personal lives.
If more police officers adapt to the culture of what the society identify as police misconduct, then there will be more violence and brutality among the people of different economic social status, and or race.
I am guessing that a lot of the women who are rallying this Saturday, like myself, are very zoomed in on what is going to affect our individual lives — but Ihope we’re also thinking about why we are in such a threatening and dire reality. The Fraternal Order of Police helped turn the presidential election in Trump’s favor. Maybe Russia did, too, but we do not rely on Russia for public safety. We do not protest Russia to stop killing people of color.

The civilians have lost confidence with the police force and they feel vulnerable. This issue has inspired them to take actions of mitigating police misconduct. Police misconduct should be addressed in police training. More emphasis is required in teaching good conduct and the significance in this career. Police officers in training should be made to understand the repercussions of their actions. The police administration should provide workshops and counseling services for officers in the various stations. Some officers commit these offenses because other psychological issues bothering them. Therefore, they need to be counseled and advised how to deal with their challenges.
